HOME ACTIVITIES
READ! READ! READ!
Look through magazines and talk about all the nouns, verbs and adjectives you see!
Everyday ask your child what he or she did all day. Ask questions!
Encourage your child to read different books!
Before bed read a book or two and ask questions after reading a page or two.
Get a notebook and call it your child's home journal or diary. Have your child write about what they did and / or how he or she feels.
Continue to read books with your child. When finished ask if your child can tell you what the book was about and then draw a picture that best describes it. Keep the pictures and then you can look at the pictures at another time and ask if your child remembers what the picture or story was about!
While watching television or a movie intermittently pause it and ask your child what he or thinks is going to happen next.
